Stick to standard readers if:

- Your data processing is already much slower than the I/O itself.
- You want code that is easy to read and maintain for a general team.
Browser and Environment Support
The good news? ReadableStreamBYOBReader is well-supported in modern Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave) and has been in Node.js since version 16 (via the stream/web module). Safari and Firefox have been slower to fully implement the byte-stream controllers, though support is landing or available in experimental builds.
If you're targeting Node.js specifically, using the web streams instead of the legacy "Node streams" (the ones with .on('data', ...)) is a prerequisite for this zero-copy journey.
