Compare the hosting bill and the work around it.
Price a DigitalOcean Droplet against App Platform using current compute references, then add backups, storage, bandwidth, and the monthly value of operating each option.
What the numbers include
Droplet transfer allowance is multiplied by the selected Droplet count. App Platform allowance is multiplied by the selected container count. Excess transfer is then charged at the current reference rate. Basic Droplet backup percentages apply to compute cost, and block storage is priced separately.
The calculator uses USD because DigitalOcean publishes these references in USD. A Swedish card or business invoice can produce a different SEK total after exchange rates, VAT treatment, bank fees, credits, and rounding. Use the actual invoice for accounting.
Managed service does not mean zero work, and a Droplet does not always need two hours each month. Replace both time estimates with your own measured average. Keep incident response and restore testing in scope, not only routine deployment.
