What the monthly model leaves out

Paid credits and free bonus credits have different treatment. Current Kilo Pass copy says free bonus credits expire each monthly cycle. Check the current account terms for paid-credit balance behavior before projecting several months or an annual prepayment.

Model mix matters. Cached input, output tokens, tools, retries, context size, and provider choice can change the same task’s charge. Estimate usage from a measured trial rather than message count.

BYOK changes key custody, provider billing, limits, regional terms, and incident ownership. A lower provider bill is not automatically a lower operating cost for a team.
